Your Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer who is dedicated to helping you achieve maximum profit from your investment!
Consignment firearms was formed as a direct result of our founder and his struggle to address the pending issues associated with aging family members. It was quickly realized, while it is difficult enough to deal with the disposal of household items, precious mementos and family keepsakes, the bigger question was:
What should we do with the firearm collection?
We quickly learned we could not advertise the collection in the local paper because the local paper only permitted gun dealers to advertise the sale of handguns.
We debated selling the collection at an open market “gun show”. But selling the collection at the gun show was not much better then holding a large garage sale. We would have limited control and no guarantees as to who would ultimately end up with the firearm. That was too risky! We realized the family is responsible for the disposal of firearms in their possession. And no-one wanted to read in the daily paper that a firearm from the collection was used in a crime.
We investigated selling the firearms through the local gun shop. When we talked with the owner, we discovered the amount being offered for the collection did not come close to the value.
We considered hiring an auction house to hold an estate sale or public sale of the firearms. The auction house was willing to sell the firearms along with all of the household goods, cars, tractors, underwear and all. We quickly realized this would not generate an amount equal to the full value of the investment.
One family member offered to take possession of the firearms. His children thought it would be “real neat” to have Grandpas gun collection. The problem was the estate would never realize the investment value of the collection. Wiser heads prevailed.
Our founder quickly realized that this issue was not unique to his family. Other families were experiencing similar problems. Dad may be getting a little older and possibly a little bit unsure of himself and Mom does not want to be concerned about the guns. And when you think about it, it is just not safe hiding everything in a closet!
There may be a sister who is undergoing a divorce; someone needs to safely dispose of the gun collection in the cabinet.
Mom and Dad may want to re-invest the money they have invested in the firearm collection as they get closer to retirement.
Our founder spent a great deal of time thinking about how to best resolve this problem. He decided that in order to help others, he would undergo the effort, expense, and time to obtain a Federal Firearm License. All the firearms would be sold in accordance with Federal Law while ensuring the buyers of the firearms are legally allowed to possess firearms.
And that is how Consignment Firearms came about. A simple belief that - Everyone deserves to get the maximum return from their firearm collection; while experiencing a safe and very secure transaction.
